In addition to offering all conventional investigations and medical treatments, Dr Alan Desmond actively promotes a healthy plant-based diet as a key component to restoring and maintaining good digestive health. Our team includes a Specialist Dietician who will guide you through the healthy dietary changes that can help you to treat your digestive symptoms. Private Consultations plus on-site Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, CT and MRI scans

After your initial consultation, you may require investigations to determine the cause of your symptoms. This may involve an endoscopy test. The most common endoscopy procedures required are gastroscopy (a slim tube to look inside your stomach via your mouth) and colonoscopy (a slim tube to look inside your large bowel via the back passage). An endoscopy may involve receiving intravenous sedation and both can be comfortably performed as a day case in our newly refurbished Endoscopy Unit. On the day of your procedure you will prepare and recover in a private bay affording you both comfort and privacy. After your procedure you will be offered a freshly prepared light meal.

If a CT scan or MRI scan is required, this can be scheduled for you after you initial consultation. These scans involve lying very still on a bed or trolley whilst we obtain images of inside your abdomen or tummy. CT and MRI scans may involve the placement of a small intravenous drip but are short and painless procedures.

Whether attending for a gastroscopy, colonoscopy, CT or MRI scan, our friendly staff will ensure that your visit is a comfortable one.
